The move from one medium of entertainment to another is happening again. This time, Netflix, an online DVD and Blu-ray disc rental site, is making a huge move to online movie distribution. Netflix had noticed that DVD sales had been declining – not so different to the move many manufacturers did years ago to when they had to shift from VHS to DVD format. Definitely, as more and more websites are offering streaming videos, DVDs and even Blu-rays are becoming less preferable.

For the consumer the choice is simple. Streaming movies are very convenient to have than waiting for movies to be delivered via email.

Together with this move, Netflix is currently getting content license so that it can start offering paid streaming videos in place.
