Shiloh Pepin is born with a defect called the mermaid syndrome that earned her the name “mermaid girl”. With her legs  fused at birth, her mother initially thought that she would live for several days. But days turned into years and Shiloh Pepin was able to enjoy life as a kid, until she died in Maine Medical Center last Friday. She was 10 years old.

She was featured widely in various television shows including that of “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. People seem to follow her life story because she had been physically different.
