US Independence Day Holiday: Is the Post Office Open?

Many are wondering if the post office is open today. As the government had previously announced, July 5th was declared as an official holiday. All government offices are closed, and so are most business establishments.
Expect regular postal mail to come to your doorsteps the next day. Express mails, however, are an exception: these will still be delivered today.
