A year ago, Glenn Beck started the 912 or 9/12 Project over on Fox News. The project aims to bring people to reminisce what happened on September 12, 2001 – the day when America was united without “red states, blue states or political parties”. September 12, 2001 was the day after the famous twin-tower attack.

NASA scientists say that the Chile earthquake was so strong that that earth had probably shifted its axis and shortened the day.
The shift of axis had been estimated to be at three inches, and the speed of earth rotation is faster by 1.26 millimeters.

Some people celebrate what they call Fat Tuesday, which is actually that day before Ash Wednesday. This is when people are trying to get as much food as they can for the day. It has been a tradition to celebrate this with food and feast for centuries.
The Lenten Season is a season of fasting and prayer, so people eat as much food as they can before Ash Wednesday begins.
Fat Tuesday is not worldwide celebration: it is celebrated in some countries such as US, Canada and Australia, to name a few.

A Red Line Metro train derailed Farragut North station in Washington around 10 AM. There were no serious injury reported. There were 345 passengers on board with very few people suffering only minor injuries.
People riding that train were moved to other cars and this had caused the closure of the station for a couple of hours.
Passengers heard that loud bang, but they were relieved that no one was hurt in that incident. A similar incident happened in the Metro last June, where this killed some people.

Because of the abnormally heavy snow, many WFAA schools decided to cancel classes. Jesuit College Preparatory and other major school had decided to close their schools.
Choices Leadership Academy and Christway Academy had confirmed their closure earlier and more schools are following suit.
However, there are some schools which remained open, such as the Allen Independent School District. The school management said that the roads are still reasonably safe and can see children making it to school without any difficulty.
