Spain wins the World Cup for the first time. It was Andres Iniesta who scored a goal during the last minutes of extra time in the game. Spain had beat Netherlands after gaining a point in the last four minutes of the soccer game. The final score was at 1-0.

In Madrid, Spain, fans were rejoicing at the victory that fireworks went off all over the city. The Dutch, however, were silent and disappointed at having ended up as the third runner up.

This year’s FIFA World Cup 2010 was held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Nelson Madela watched and joined the football victory party for Spain.

Anyone who is famous would not find difficulty in getting a good number of followers in many social networks online.

This is indeed the case that happened with American basketball player LeBron James, who had just signed up an account less than 12 hours earlier. He had only made one Twitter update, and yet he gained almost 200,000 followers in Twitter as of this writing. Probably the “verified account” mark on top of his Twitter page made it convincing enough for Twitter followers not to follow other fake LeBron James Twitter profiles.

His friend Chris Paul, an active twitter user, had managed to convince James to open up a verified Twitter account. Paul had also mentioned James in one of his tweets, which contributed to the growth of followers.

LeBron James had yet to decide on which NBA team he will play with.

Takeru Kobayashi found himself sitting in jail after trying to get onstage in Coney Island’s Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest which was held at the morning of Independence Day. After Joey Chestnut was proclaimed the winner of the event with 54 hotdogs eaten, Kobayashi stood among the crowd and tried to get through past the police security.

He was hoping that he’d be given the chance to give an eating exhibition for free. Even as the crowd cheered that he’d be given the chance to eat, police security took hold of him and sent him to jail.

Kobayashi is the world’s no. 3 “professional” eater, and such he was dubbed by the nickname “The Tsunami”. Earlier he had expressed his interest in joining the Hot Dog Eating Contest but he was not allowed to do so. He did not sign the contract with Major League Eating – he preferred to enter free contests instead.

Joey Chestnut, on the other hand, currently hold the world record for 68 hotdogs eaten. This is the fourth year that he has held on the championship.

Takeru Kobayashi is charged with resisting arrest, trespassing and obstructing governmental administration.

Coming on HBO is another one of Manny Pacquiao’s fights: this time it’s Joshua Clottey who is next in line for the Pacman. Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey will fight for the WBO Welterweight title at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas on March 13.

Earlier, both fighters had their official weigh-in. Clottey weighed 147 pounds while Pacquiao’s weight was measured at 145.75 pounds.

Pacquiao’s fights had been known to make Filipinos gather round to watch the entire fight.

Rodney Stuckey is now on a stable condition and is now resting in a Cleveland clinic. The Detroit Piston’s player was earlier seen on a stretcher after collapsing during a game timeout against Cleveland Cavaliers. Rodney seemed to suffer from seizure and was knocked out unconscious.

Before the timeout, Rodney still appeared to be in good condition.

The game proceeded after about a ten-minute delay. At fourth quarter Rodney was seen conscious and in good condition but the game ended with the Cavaliers winning the game at 99-92

Jillian Michaels filed defamation lawsuits against three class-action lawsuits against her. The class-action lawsuits claim is for misleading advertisement where people can just take “Two Capsules Before Main Meals and You Lose Weight…That’s It.”

Jillian endorses Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control and Michaels Maximum Strength Fat Burner, which failed to live to its expectations.

Although there aren’t fat pictures shown by Jillian, she discusses her struggle with fat during her adolescence.
