The big box office hit movie Avatar is expected to win numerous awards from this occasion. Other nominees include Up, Up in the /Air, The Hurt Locker, District 9, An Education, A Serious Man, Inglorious Basterds and Precious and The Blind Side.

The 2010 Academy Awards will commence at 8:30 PM Eastern Time. It is scheduled to be shown in ABC. However, at 8:00 PM EST, red carpet show will be shown.
